  7. Frames are basically placeholders for objects in InDesign. They look like boxes with Xs in them. They can be used to place pictures, graphics, or text. Frames allow you to move content around and crop images without actually cropping the image itself. For example, you can make a circular frame and then fit your image into a circle (without altering the image). Basically, frames make your life so much easier in InDesign.

  8. Frames make designing easier because they create a set space / cropped area to place in images, text, or shapes.

  9. Frames are used for different reasons. For example, frames are used to have an image. When using a frame, it can show a specific part of an image as shown in the third row in the picture above. Another way to use frames is to put an image in it so that the frame is the size of the image. Also, frames can be moved around the document.

  10. The frame provides a area for multimedia to be dropped such as pictures, videos etc....

  11. A single compound frame will use one picture but split it into separate parts, so if you put on picture in, it will break it apart. That's what happens and is illustrated in the "image placed in compound frame". Three separate frames will hold separate pictures and you can set the size of your picture to the frame.

  12. Three separate frames help keep three separate pictures or images. A compound frame spreads the item put in the frame to all three. When an image is placed into a compound frame it divides the picture among the three frames.

  14. Frames in InDesign provide a place for images, text and styles and allow for custom borders and sizes of whatever is placed inside. They allow for multiple layers of media in the same space.

  16. Frames are a key tool in the success of Adobe In Design because they are used for placing pictures, videos, and even text. The frames can be used to hold pictures. A single frame can hold a picture, or a picture can be spread out within many different frames. These are known as compound frame. The way you can tell the difference between a couple single frames and a single compound frame would be the amount of "X's" The compound frame would be 1 "x" in between all of the frames, while the multiple frames all have an "x" inside each one of them.

  17. The function of frames in InDesign is to allow the user to be able to add images or text to their project as well as create new and creative designs to your application. They are easier to make a better application by changing and creating things for the images/objects that you want to use in a different way then there original appearance.
